Immediate need for a JUNIOR TRAINEE SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / SUPPORT ADMINISTRATOR / COMPUTER GEEK
Cordis are the UK's leading FileMaker development company, whose clients include HSBC, Holiday Inn, Office Depot, the UK Government and the University of Southampton. We are seeking a competent Junior Programmer to join our multi-award winning team to assist in the handling of our clients' FileMaker support issues and minor database development tasks.
Above all, the successful candidate will be a self starter and have a keen interest in computers, the web and most things IT. Preferably the candidate will have some experience in programming and will have some experience with FileMaker Pro - although this is not essential. A keen interest in this area and a high level of initiative are the most important attributes. We are willing to provide both on the job and structured training courses to the right candidate.
Initially the tasks will focus on supporting users of a number of our existing software products. This generally requires a basic understanding of FileMaker, and as such can quickly be learned. You will provide support by telephone and email, which requires good communication skills.
Applicants will be given a small practical test to complete upon application, working to a brief that will be provided. We will be looking for elegant solutions to the problems posed, useful outcomes that fulfil the client's requirements and initiative shown.
The position requires a good command of written English.
